Wild Blue Flax, Linum perenne

I got an early start going up Iron Mountain, Oregon, early July. The flax opens up as the day warms and I was lucky enough to catch it in mid stride.

Oooh this is pretty sweet. The color separation is really good - the way purple and blue don’t run together like many other photos are processed. That said, the blue channel seems a bit overloaded and saturated to my eye. You could use the Calibration or HSL panel to take it down a smidge and see if any detail comes up in the petals. There is too much there to ignore; fabulous sharpness and the curl of those petals is magic. I assume darkening the bg to black eliminated a lot of distraction. Certainly amps up the drama!

Thank you for your comments and your suggestion. I did brought the blues and I liked it.
