Description
I posted this guy here recently in a more… stately pose. He let me photograph him for over a half hour. I got lots of captures including this one with him doing a little gyration with his wings. Whole different look.
Specific Feedback
Cropping, exposure, anything?

Interesting image, Dave. I like the wing position, but this does look like a threat display, as if something were bothering the bird. Detail is excellent, as is the composition.
I don’t recall anything messing with it at that moment. I think it was briefly doing some fluffing and preening.
What an interesting image. Definitely not same old same old. It makes one wonder whether this was just preening or whether it was some deeper behavior. In any event, thanks for passing along such a refreshing photograph.
A unique pose, well capture, Dave. Excellent detail and a complementary perch and a nice background.
What a mind-bender. Perhaps because I’m not a birder, it took me a minute to figure out what was going on. I love the way the weathered stump protrusions mimic the shape of the owl’s feathers. Very cool.
This owl is remarkably camouflaged with dead, gray wood. They REALLY blend with old, dead wood.
A wonderful capture!! Congratulations on the EP – well-deserved!
Wow! What on earth is it doing?!
. Cool capture wherever it is! GGOs are so beautiful. Great detail.
A very unique picture ! Congratulations on the EP!
