Description

Photographing wild horses can be challenging; they don’t always cooperate. You know, sun behind the photographer, stop grazing, show up at sun rise or sunset, etc. While driving up a side dirt road in the Piceance Herd Management Area in NW Colorado, I came across this beauty. The horse just stood in place and wateched me. I was able to get out of my vehicle, walk around and take a number of picture. When finished shooting, I drove by, exchanging glances.

Good to see that you made it to Colorado Gary.
This is a nice clean shot of the horse at a pleasing angle. I particularly like the foreground foliage which serves to give an extra point of interest and helps to frame the head. Good exposure on the body and an interesting background giving some environmental context.

Actually, Ryan, I do live in Colorado, near Denver. The 4 wild Horse areas in Colorado are on the far western siide of the state. Appreciate your comments. Cheers.
