Image Critiques is the heart of Nature Photographers Network—a space for thoughtful, in-depth feedback that helps photographers grow. Here, we value honest dialogue, careful observation, and constructive insight over quick reactions. If you choose to share your work, please limit posts to one image per day and aim to comment on at least two other members’ images for every one you submit. Our Philosophy
We believe growth happens through conversation. The goal of critique is not to judge, but to understand—what the photographer intended, what the image communicates, and how it might become stronger. This requires openness from the person posting and generosity from those responding.
Critique here should be specific, respectful, and rooted in helping each other improve.
General Posting Expectations
When Posting
- Be prepared to receive both positive and constructive feedback objectively.
- If you’re looking for specific feedback (composition, mood, processing, storytelling, technique), say so.
- If sharing multiple versions, explain what you’re deciding between.
When Commenting
- Share what is working and why.
- Offer clear, constructive suggestions for improvement.
- Keep comments respectful and focused on the image—not the photographer.
Please review the NPN Posting Guidelines and The Art of Image Critique for deeper guidance.

Weekly Challenge
A new challenge theme is released every Sunday. Tag entries appropriately and follow the current theme guidelines. Non-nature entries are only permitted when the theme allows them.
Projects
A project is a cohesive body of work united by a focused theme. We recommend submitting 6–12 images with a short description. Larger bodies of work should be shared as a PDF or external link and carefully curated for meaningful critique.
