Scope of Everything Else Images
This category includes, but is not limited to:
- Urban and street photography
- Architecture and cityscapes
- Still life and product photography
- Abstract and conceptual art
- Portraits and people photography
- Travel photography (non-nature focused)
- Sports and action photography
- Documentary and photojournalism
Guidelines for Everything Else Images
- Images must be G-rated, non-offensive, and suitable for all viewers
- While the subject matter is open, the focus should be on photographic merit and artistic expression
- Images of captive animals from zoos or wildlife rehabilitation centers should be posted here, with full disclosure of the facility name and any relevant conservation information
Content Restrictions
- No explicit or offensive content
- No images that violate copyright or intellectual property rights
- Avoid controversial political or religious themes that may incite heated debates
Posting Guidelines
When Posting a Photo
- Be prepared to accept all comments - both positive and negative - in an objective fashion. Remember, it’s the photo being critiqued, not the photographer
- If there is any specific feedback you’re looking for, such as comments on composition, lighting, or conceptual elements, be sure to ask for it in your post
- Include relevant information about the subject, your creative process, or the story behind the image
- Specify the genre or style of photography if it’s not immediately apparent
When Commenting on Other Photos
- Discuss the technical aspects of the image (composition, lighting, post-processing, etc.)
- Comment on how well the image conveys its intended message or emotion
- Provide constructive feedback on how the image might be improved
- If you’re familiar with the specific genre or style, share insights or techniques relevant to that area of photography
- Keep all comments congenial and respectful! All comments should pertain completely to the photo
