Is it interesing? Absolutely! From this and some previous posts, I’m wishing I had an agave plant in my yard!
The motion blur is short, but very, very effective especially with the highlights on the edges. I like that you’ve kept the colors/sat in check. I know for me, it’s easy to go too far with these abstracts.
I’m still not a big fan of the tall digital format. With that, I think you could crop say like 10% or so off the bottom to see how that looks. For one element, it removes the dark triangle, LRC. Not an image killer at all, but again I just like a shorter format. YMMV.
The only other suggestion might be to burn down the brighter orange “flame” in the UR. Again, not a deal killer, but does draw the eye just a tad.
The shapes and lines all working well together. Nice work.
The master of the Agave strikes again. I really like this image, Don. The shapes and flow are beautiful and the highlights are a joy. I could see how the leaves in the lower right might have worked just a tiny bit better if they were more vertical, but looked at as a whole it’s just gorgeous.
Hi Don, I keep staring at your image here. I like the color palette and the splashes of orange. I have no suggestions for you because I find it a very interesting image. Makes me decide to try to be more creative on my next Desert Botanical visit. Thanks for posting the Technical Details.
Your technique shows off the curves and sharp tips of the agave and hides the inevitable blemishes on the blades. The feeling of flow is a lot more pleasing than a static photo showing all the edgy parts of the leaves.
