All That Birdseed Is Makin' Me Thirsty!

Apparently, this squirrel believes he’s a bird. First, he tries to eat all my bird seed, then he quenches his thirst in the bird bath.

Cute, Terry. Our squirrels do the same thing. Sometimes I get so frustrated with them but mostly I think they’re just fun to watch. Nicely seen.

Thanks, Linda. Yes, I, too have a love/hate relationship with these critters - mostly hate! But they can be really cute.

Beautiful moment and love the stretched pose!
These water pots have additional importance in my country (India) due to extreme summers and people keep them out of religious sentiments too.

Terry, even squirrels get thirsty… Yes keeping them off the feeders is quite a chore. This is a very good look at this rascal helping itself to your water trough.

Around where I am when I see a squirrel taking advantage of birdseed I think of it as raising a different kind of bird food. For the eagles, owls and hawks. And I have watched a fox take one in the backyard as well. Got a shot of it trotting off with its prize!

I’ve seen my resident foxes chasing squirrels, but yet to catch one that I’ve seen. They need to start earning their keep!!

I didn’t realize they were part of a religious ritual, Jagdeep. That’s interesting.
