Taken today, spring greens are arriving as well
as breeding colors on the local ducks,

I like this and am jealous - all the interesting ducks at my neighborhood lake just stay way out in the middle. Nice low shooting angle, sharpness, and background. Color tones look good to me and I like the water. Well done.
Yes, this is very nice. The bird looks great, exposure is spot on, and you (like always) have a great shooting angle. My only suggestion would be to try and tone down the brightest greens in the background a touch.
Excellent color and detail on the Widgeon. I really like the water the background and depth of field in this image.
