Hi Antonello,
I myself love the warm violet, pink and magenta tones you captured in this scene. The graceful curve of the cloud works beautifully and the placement of the crescent moon is perfect for my tastes. I would miss dinner anytime if I came away with something this nice. The image is uncomplicated and radiates this serene peaceful vibe; the perfect way to end the day IMO.

Gorgeous!! Colors are perfect for my taste and the detail in the clouds frames the moon so well! No suggestions but enjoy!!

Thanks Diane and Ed! Happy you liked it! The moment was indeed splendid and I stared at the vanishing light and the changing colors till was dark…

Beautiful Antonello. Th flow of the clouds nicely frames the moon, and color is the wonderful theme here. I don’t find the color too strong, however you might compare adding a bit more color contrast. (Magenta definitely dominates here.) Here’s a subtle example of what I mean. I used a mask to select the less magenta areas and moved them slightly even more away from magenta. Fun to compare, but may not be your cup of tea.

Thanks John! Very interesting subtle rework! Indeed, there was some moisture in the air between the clouds, so the magenta came from that, I suppose. Your rework is like having slightly moved the clock forward in time, as it was a few minutes afterwards in the journey to the night… I am not fully sure which one I prefer, both convey similar - but not fully equal, I guess - feelings…

Wonderful idea, @John_Williams! I hope I can remember that!

Antonello, this is a fine capture of the “end of the day”. The colors look good and you’ve got a fine sliver of the moon well placed. It seems that the “cradle” of the moon is being cradled by the cloud…

Antonello,

Lovely photo of the moon nestled among the clouds. Colors are not to strong but I do like the suggestion made by @John_Williams of building more color contrast. Hopefully your dinner was not too cold after making this photo.

Thanks Youssef! Dinner got a bit cold but… the scene was so nice that I forgot about it… :slightly_smiling_face:

Antonello,

Lovely image of the dusk sky and crescent moon. The colors are beautiful - although I must say I really like John’s subtle edit (and like Diane have to try and remember this tweak!) But for sure, your experience of the moment is what matters and your original is equally compelling.

I too like the placement of the moon and also see the clouds as cradling the moon in a way. Very cool.

Thanks Lon! Your comments are always appreciated! The “Moon Cradle” yes… sounds like that. And it is a nice lyrics from Loreena McKennit… As for colors… Yes, I see the point and I also like the rework (and will try to apply this method to other images, following John’s indications), and I may well be biased by my feelings when I was taking the pictures - sort of being immersed in a “magenta sky”…
Thanks all!
