Another...Green Heron

You all are probably getting tired of all the green herons I post - Sorry about that - they are about to migrate out of my home region so relief is in sight. They are one of my favorite birds. Anyway, here is a shot I took on July 4 at the neighborhood lake. I like the wing color, etc.

Canon 7D2, 400mm f4 DO II, 1.4x TC III, monopod
ISO 640, f7.1, 1/2500s

Any comment appreciated.

You got an ideal wingspread, Allen. I really like seeing the details on the downwing. Very nice lighting to go with the pose.

Allen, how can one get tired of seeing images of these Green Herons? I have really enjoyed them. This is no exception. The details and colors in the feathers, especially on the wing, is really great.

Excellent color, detail, and processing. I don’t get tired of seeing green herons; I only wish I had some in my area. I’ve seen and photographed one in the last 20 years.

I like this a lot, Allen. Great wing position and detail. I’m not sure about the tip of the far wing sticking up above the body. You might try removing it to see how it looks.
