Yes, this one is better than your first version. The eye and catch light show up better in this image. Pangolins are one of the many favorite animals of mine. Thank you for posting…Jim

Ken: any shot of a pangolin is good. In this one, you can see that the pangolin usually walks on its hind legs. Richard

I agree with all the comments above, even the POV is better here.

I like it better too. I even think you could crop some of that distracting brush from the top (probably balancing that with a crop from bottom) while still maintaining enough breathing room around the edges. A slightly tighter crop actually might embolden the graphic elements–the shape of the animal in profile and the great pattern of those scales–of this photo too. It’s a great profile and you even got some catchlight on the eye.
