Arctic Terns are elegant and beautiful birds and there are plenty of them where I live so I have hundreds of photos of them. This is one of my favorites of 2022 though but not just because of the tern itself but also because of the graphic elements with the tern’s wing positions echoing the lines and shapes of the snow fields on the mountain in the background.

I can see why you like this so much. I agree that the graphic elements in the background work so well together. Superb composition.

Hello, I really like the creativity in this shot. My eyes are drawn to the orange beak and feet and then meander over the structure of the wings and the feathers. The background is interesting in its own right, I love the green amongst the blues/greys, and my eyes always go back to the orange!
