Arctic Terns in Gale Force Wind

This is the Atlantic Ocean off North West Icelandic coast. Gale force winds of close to 100 km/h prevented us from visiting our targeted destination. This was taken from an open car door window as we left our target area. We made an effort to get to the cliffs where puffins typically congregate but were unable to because of the force of the wind. It was quite frightening and very dangerous.

Really good entry. The cloud of terns looks great.

Now that’s a multitude. The clarity and mass of birds is excellent, David.

Wow. That’s all I wanted to say, but I had to add more characters…so WOW!

Hi Dave
I can’t count the number of times I tried to photograph a group of bird taking to flight and only a part of the group in focus. Nice work Dave.
