The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This was taken entirely as a test of my new EOS R6II IBIS capability. I used an EF 17-40L at 32mm and AV mode set to f/8. I held the camera at belt level and used the articulating screen to compose the scene, the camera selected a shutter speed of 1/80 @ ISO 400.
It wasn’t until my new PC showed up a few days ago that I finally got a good look at this full frame capture in LRC. My conclusion is that it could not have beeen sharper even if I had used a tripod. The IBIS feature is certainly great news for my not-so-steady 70 year old hands!
Specific Feedback
I like the intricate texture presented in the ground cover, more so than just the leaves that initially caught my eye. While the scene is ordinary, does the depiction of the detail and texture carry the day?
Thanks for looking!

Nature is pretty good at decoupage, and you’ve captured a nice snippet here. The little spots of green sprinkled in are a nice contrast to the warmth of the autumn leaves; I can see why you were drawn in. I think it works very well as a slice of the season.
Glad to hear you were very happy with the camera; sounds like you’ll have a lot of fun with it!
I like this. There is a very pleasing pattern of yellow and brown leaves sprinkled throughout the image. I might consider a small crop from the left because the lack of yellow leaves there kind of messes up the pattern for me.
On a side note, articulating screens are awesome – sometimes. I love how you can more easily compose up high or very low to the ground but I don’t like how they interfere with my L-Bracket when shooting in portrait orientation.
Hi Jim,
It sounds like you are already having a lot of fun with the new toys. I like the mix of greens and yellows as they compliment each other rather nicely in this image. There are lots of details for the eyes to savor and enjoy as they wander around the landscape at your feet. I hope you enjoy your retirement in 2025!
