Description

Azara’s Capuchin, AKA “Hooded Capuchin”
Pantanal, Brazil

This female was at eye-level - after I climbed on top of a tall chair on top of a bench. The Tour Guides were not happy. Several bright areas behind the monkey removed.

What a beautiful girl! She looks very relaxed in this pose with her leg and tail draped over the branches. Good on you for working to get the shot, I think it was worth it to annoy the tour guides a bit, haha. The soft light of the shade and framing by the branches are nice. I wonder what it would look like if the sunlight (from sunset I’m guessing?) was on her. This could be because I’m looking at this on a phone, but I also wonder if it would be worth brightening her face/eyes a touch in post. Overall a lovely shot and one to be proud of!

I thought too about brightening the face (or just eyes) a bit. Chair on bench, hm, must try it! Background is fine too.

Thanks @Mike_Friel and @Matthew_Chatham

I lightened quite a bit already, but will try more.
Thank you!
I’d love to find some of these guys in sunlight, but - alas! - they like being in the deep jungle most of the time. Finding them in the clear in ANY light is a gift.

Even more character in that face now!

This is such a nice relaxed look at this girl. I like the edit work you did Sandy, the light is actually quite nice.

A cool frame, I really like the way ots tail is circling the branch.
It may benefit from some boost in the contrast & eyes can be further enhanced.
