My thanks to @Tom_Nevesely, @Giuseppe_Guadagno, and @Michael_Lowe who pointed out my need to do some border patrol. You have a very sharp eye. Nits matter in my book. Thanks.
Barbara I don’t know a thing about IR but for me this is a very nice black&white photo of clouds that I admire for the feeling of three-dimantionality and the soft light contrast in these clouds that are floating in the sky as ships.
Thanks @Giuseppe_Guadagno for your vision of three-dimensionality and the idea of floating ships. Infrared will turn blue skies black. Greens become white. Of course, white stays white. It is great for midday when there are clouds in the sky. I am just learning when to use it.
I really like this . Nice dramatic effect. I was thinking of dabbling in IR sometime. I just want to point to a few things. Very minor nit picking I will say. I often miss things on the edges in my photos but for some strange reason I notice them in others. I painted around a few things you might want to clone out.
Nice! This looks almost painterly and I love the colour palette. I’ve always found IR photography intriguing and thought about getting into it but there isn’t enough time for me to do everything and to spread myself too thin so I will just content myself with viewing other people’s IR images such as this. Thanks for sharing!
@Michael_Lowe, you have a great eye. I am a stickler for “border patrol”. Thanks for noticing the nits. They do need attention. @Tom_Nevesely, I hadn’t considered IR until I saw what could be done outside of the “golden hours”, and I had a camera that I wasn’t using anymore. Thanks for the painterly illusion.
