Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I caught this pose of a young fawn out back recently. I like that it was looking at me but I wish that it wasn’t standing so near that large, dark tree trunk.

Specific Feedback

I’m thinking the subject commands enough attention to overlook the trunk being there. Does the square crop work here?

I like this. I agree that the “gesture” outweighs any negatives with regard to the tree. However I would remove the twigs around the back leg and correct for the color cast.

You may make it more vertical.
Cloning marks are visible in thr BG.

Great composition, can’t always depend on a clean background. I think the high ISO hurt the image, I tried sharpening and denoise, but it did not help much. Been there done that myself.
