Bee with Cotoniaster

Image(s)

as you can see, the original image was quite problematic for a number of reasons including the bottom and all of the whites on the far right leaf. So, it required a little digital magic to pull this off. I tried all kinds of things to get rid of the glare. It was a learning experience to put this together.

David: Really beautiful capture. The only thing that would make this a tiny bit better would be a touch more room at the bottom. Very nicely done.>=))>

Yeah, I did pull the bottom down on the repost just to show you what was underneath. I suppose with a little extra work, I could make it look a little better. Thanks for your reply. Your thoughtful critiques are always helpful.

The bee is gorgeous!!! Why not just clone out the brighter OOF leaf on the right? I don’t see that it would be missed.

David, the details in the bee are outstanding. I suppose that if I looked long enough and with enough skepticism that I might eventually have noticed that the leaf on the right is a mirror of the one on the left, but that’s unlikely for anyone outside of a photo contest judge. If you had the shutter speed, a polarizer would suppress the glare. I’ve also attached a version where all I did was burn the brightest tones in your original version. Oh yeah, the leaves at the bottom can also be burned-in a bit to reduce their presence.
