Beech twig in snow

Description: Beech trees—buds, leaves all year long, and bark—are often something I look closely at and photograph throughout the seasons. The simple form of the buds in winter are especially beautiful.

Specific Feedback Requested: Again, I’ve not worked much with high-key so all feedback related to that is appreciated. Especially what works well for you in this image.

The “clean lines” and clear color in the buds are very attractive, John. There’s a fine elegance to the branch and the buds. I wonder if there’s a better way to use the negative space here rather than having the subject centered.
