New Beech leaves

Description: Unfurled only a day or two, these Beech leaves, after spending a winter wrapped in the bud coverings, show detail—folds and hairs—that will soon disappear. Already they are part of their larger world, providing an anchor for a thread of web in the upper right. Soon they will be chewed and munched on as insects convert them to other forms of life. So it goes, right?!

Great composition, John. The shallow focus also adds to the depth and isolation of the leaves. Well done.
