Belted Kingfishers

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I went to the local park pond yesterday that is frequented by kingfishers. Saw this pair which seemed to be a male adult bringing fish to a juvenile male. The adult flew with a fish to this perch and the two flew off before the pass of the fish was made. I have another series I might post later showing the adult giving a fish to the juvenile.

All three images are excellent, Allen. Beautiful detail in both birds and the fish and the compositions work well.

Great natural history story. Beautiful images. Patience had you in the right place at the right time with great technique.

I can just see the captions . . .

“Honey, I’m home.”
“Well, it’s about time.”
“Well, if that’s how you feel.”
“Kidding, sweetheart. Do you want some?”

All Kidding aside, these give us a great story of this pair. Nice details, colors, perches, BG, almost everything. The one and only suggestion I have is to clone out the lowest twig on the bottom right of the first image.
