One from last year. I was playing around in PS and added a solid color layer of the pink flower color and set it to soft light. I think it softens the background and gives it a bit of a glow.
Canon 7DII; Sigma 150-600 at 600 mm. 1/1000@f8, -1/3 EV; 800 ISO
Very sharp and clean. Superb detail with a good head turn and excellent eye contact. The background is certainly different but it works effectively.

Beautiful image, Allen. I really like what your technique did to the background. I can see lots of times when it might come in handy for a very contrasty background.
