Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Taken today at a local wildlife area. The sun popped out for a brief appearance. Surprised to see such red apples in January. The apples show how small the chickadee is.
Specific Feedback
Any thoughts appreciated. I know the chickadee is small in the frame and I could have cropped more, but I thought this made for a different presentation.

This is very cool, Allen. I like leaving the Chickadee relatively small in the frame, particularly since they are small birds. My only two nits are that on my monitor, the white cheek has lost all detail-you might pull down the highlights just a bit. There’s also a bright spot of something touching the right side of the apple it’s perched on that I find distracting.
Other than those very minor issues I love this one.

Thanks, @Dennis_Plank . I posted a new image based on your suggestions, and removed the original.
Nailed it, Allen. No real need to remove the original unless you’re into looking perfect.
No, but the changes seemed so minor, I thought in this case removing the original seemed reasonable.
Hi Allen, this does really show the diminutive size of the chickadee in very interesting surroundings. Nice head turn on the bird. I like the branches with the lichen. Well done.
