Black Skimmer 2

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I thought I’d pose a couple more images of my skimmer encounter last week in Florida. Top image shows the path the bird took skimming - not always in a straight line. Second image shows the full reflection of the bird in profile.

In the first image seeing the path it took through the water adds a lot to the image. I would have liked a bit more detail in the head, as you had in the previous post of the skimmer coming at the viewer.

Nice pose, reflection, and sweet light in the second.

I love that curved wake in the first image, Allen, though I wish he had been in smoother water (I know, Picky. Picky.) Both are excellent images of this very cool feeding technique.

Both are wonderful but for me, the second one is extra special – the light and colors are just fantastic, and the reflection is ghostly gorgeous!
