Self Critique

I like how well this came out as it was snowing. Busy ? Yes but that is where the berries were during our bad ice storm last month.

Creative direction

I planted this bush specifically for the bluebirds in the winter. I like the contrast of the berries being bright red and of course the beauty of a male bluebird eating them.

Specific Feedback

Overall thoughts. I cropped so berries were visible above and below the bluebird.

Technical Details

Nikon Z8 Nikon 180-600 1/2000 F8 ISO4500

I had the setting at 1/2000 in the event the bird jumped to another area on the bush.

Description

The interesting thing about winter bird feeding is that the bluebirds never touch this bush until either temperature or conditions get bad. It was around 10 degrees at the time of shutter click

Very nicely done, Andrew. The busy background works well in this image and the pose of the bluebird gives the feel that he’s not particularly happy with the conditions.

Nice over the shoulder pose Andrew. I like the inclusion of the berries which helps to tell the story. The mood shown conveys the cold wintery conditions.

The snow adds a lot of interest to the image, Andrew. Nice pose and detail in the bluebird and the berries add to the story.

Beautiful image Andrew! Nicely composed and I like the overall feel and edit to the composition. Well done.
