Boat-billed Heron

Another image from the boat trip on the Tarcoles River in Costa Rica. David Schoen told me it would be the most productive session of the trip, and he was certainly right. This bird was quite cooperative.

Hi Dennis,

What an interesting pose with mouth open. Shadows on the bird are nice and soft and I like the warm tones on the heron’s neck. The position of the bird in the frame is good and I like the image as presented…Jim

Great shot! This is one of the more fascinating herons. I really like the comp and the open boat bill!

What a great capture, Dennis! It looks like he has a lot to say!

Excellent pose and detail in a pleasing environmental setting. Well done.

Hi Dennis, great pose - Gotta love that open beak and tongue. I like the composition too where we can see the surroundings. Nice frame.
