Bonnets and Blue

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

My wife was recovering from hip surgery and I had to stick around the house caring for her during this year’s wildflower season. I did manage to get out one day and wandered around Washington and Grimes counties. Caught this scene with my drone. I had several with different reflections in the pond from the clouds as well as their shadows passing over the field. Thought this was the best of the bunch. >=))>

Specific Feedback

Fairly large crop for comp off the original capture to give the pond more emphasis. Interesting subject or meh?

Fantastic colors, Bill. Difficult to get the best angle for flowers and sky combined, I imagine, but this is good. Maybe brighten the lower half a bit to match the upper half? Or would that then be too unnatural? I can picture this as a symmetrical pair, if you flip it horizontally and join the two together (just for fun). The 2 ponds might then look like a pair of exotic eyes.

Beautiful, delicate and subtle colors and I like the composition. It is a good subject - not a “wow” image but a very relaxing and serene view. Nice!
ps: the idea of the Buddha-like eyes sound interesting!

Beautiful image. The composition is especially brilliant.

oooohhhh, what a fine, gentle collection of colors and shapes, Bill. Nicely abstract.

I missed this one before but need to add a “Super!” Such a nice aerial view. I love the increasing brightness toward the top and the lovely sky reflection. Well seen and presented!

YIKES…I’m really late on seeing this one, Bill. Excellent image all around… :+1:
Also, I hope all is going well for you and your wife and her recent hip surgery. Got many family and friends with hips, knees, and shoulder change outs lately. Amazing the repairs that can take place these days…

:+1: :+1: ON THE EP TOO !
