Interesting composition! This feel like a tree reflecting off of a frozen lake with the backlit leaves serving as cracked ice extending from the branches. I think black and white was the right choice for this

Thanks, Matthew. I was thinking black and white from the outset with this one.

Don: Intriguing image and I was thinking some kind of weird IR lightning capture. However you did it I like the energy implied. Well seen and nicely presented. >=))>

Thanks, Bill. It’s not infrared. I did darken the sky and lighten the leaves to achieve some separation, which is probably what made you suspect infrared.

Very nice, with a wonderfully different vibe! I thought IR also, but the pseudo treatment is very successful! The delicate leaves on the rugged limbs is a very nice combination!

Diane, one reason this needed to be in black and white is that if I’d made the same tonal adjustments in color, I don’t think it would have been believable. Thanks for the comments.

The abstraction aspect of B/W is cool, but even in color, who needs believability? :upside_down_face:
