Brushtail and Whiteants

Image(s)

Image Description

Brushtail possums, kookaburras and kingfishers quite often use the nests of white ants when natural hollows are scarce. The white ants’ nest itself is quite interesting. A kookaburra more than likely hollowed this out before the possum took up residence.

What a nice house this little guy has – I hope he didn’t displace a Hobbit! Excellent detail and composition – no suggestions!!

I love this picture. The way his eye is in the center of the hole and looks directly above you. The leaves above it provides a really nice touch to protect him. The only thing I would maybe change is remove the leaves in the upper right in the corner. As they are not in the area of the main subject they are a bit distracting. At least for me. Wonderful composition and catch!!

The possum peeking out look great, Glennie. I would change a think here. The green leaves add a fine change-of-pace.
