Buck in Big Meadows

Nikon D500 Nikon 200-400. ISO500, 1/640, F9.

I was out in Shenandoah last fall during the rut and found this nice buck in the meadow. They seem to pay more attention to photographers during the rut. AKA keeping their heads up.

I darkened the area around the buck to make him standout a bit. No white clipping in the histogram.

A lovely pose from this guy, Andrew, and I really like the setting and what you did to it. Two minor nits: I think a little off the left would help decenter the buck a bit more and (really minor) there’s a yellow flower between the buck and right edge slightly under half way up that’s a real eye magnet for me.

A beautiful image.

Great techs n wonderful pose!
I agree with Dennis that a little off to the left would help the frame.
