Burnout Recovery - Repost

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This was taken along the Kootenay Parkway in Kootenay NP BC, Canada. It was interesting to see the jagged line of dead (widow makers) along the ridge lines in the fog with all of the new growth coming in nicely underneath.

Specific Feedback

I’m wondering if I should try to darken the fog/sky , but I’m not sure what that will do to the silhouette of dead trees standing on the ridgeline. Any comments are more than welcome.

Technical Details

Canon 5D M iii, f13, 1/80 s, iso 640, -1 ev, 24-105 lens at 82 mm.

Hi Ed,

Rather than trying to darken the fog, I think I would like to see the FG area with slightly less contrast so that you end up with a “softer” photograph overall. Then I think the BG widow makers and the fog tie in more cohesively.

Something like this.

Thank you @Youssef_Ismail. That is a really helpful recommendation. I’ve reposted a new version with your suggestions.
