Allen, I’m especially attracted to #1, with the backlight setting the petals aglow. I would suggest cropping off the bottom, to focus completely on the red vs yellow and fill the frame with glow.
Another nice set of images from that field trip, Allen. I too like the first one with the backlit glow and @Mark_Seaver had an interesting suggestion. I like the windmill as well, but it looks like it could use some counterclockwise rotation. If my eye isn’t deceiving me, the downward pointing vane looks to be almost perfectly vertical judging by the way it bisects the wall behind it, so I’d try straightening on it. The triptych has promise to me, but it looks rather dull, though that might be the nature of the beast. I’d try bringing up the shadows to alleviate the dark bottom of the frame a bit and giving the blooms a bit more punch.
Allen: #1 for me and I like @Mark_Seaver’s suggestion regarding the crop. I like the faux pano look of the triptych and also agree with Mark regarding the dark bottom. The color looks good to me and perhaps just a simple 10-15% crop from the bottom would help. Good job working these opportunities. >=))>
