Canyon and waterfalls + extra image

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Another image from my recent trip to Iceland.
The image is a 7x6 crop from a much wider view. In general, I don’t like the 7x6 ratio. As a memory of what I experienced when I stood at the edge of the canyon, the original image is better representing my feelings. But I think that the crop is a better photograph.

Specific Feedback

What do you think about the crop? I realize that you don’t know what is hidden beyond the borders, but do you wish to see more?
The SS is selected to show the flow of the water, without killing the dynamics. I don’t want to create a milky flow without any structure. Do you agree?

Technical Details

Pentax K3 Mk. III, Sigma 2.8/17-70 @34mm, ISO200, f/10, 1/5 sec.
Focus stack (3 images).
RAW conversion in DxO PL6, histogram expanded to full range, very few further adjustments except a small increase in contrast.

I really like the photo.
The soft light and careful composition do the rest.
the only small - and probably unsolvable - drawback is the LRC.
A beautiful image.

It’s a beautiful scene and a fine photo.

Yes, I’d like to see beyond the current crop. One reason is that, like you, I don’t particularly like this aspect ratio. I also think the scene would benefit from a little more breathing room unless there’s something ghastly just out of the frame.

Nice scenic image with a good composition. To my taste it’s slightly overdone with the colors.

Thank you @joaoquintela , @Don_Peters and @Igor_Doncov for your comments.
@Don_Peters (and others) : I’ll post the whole frame, if you like you can suggest a different crop. I’m interested in your opinion.

Yes, that’s a stronger composition.

Hans, this is better and I can’t see a better crop.

Thanks @Igor_Doncov and @Don_Peters for your response!

Han, I too find the full frame more attractive. In particular the cropped view feels cut off in the lower left and somewhat left heavy. The details in the falls and the long curving view to the distant peak make a dynamic view of this dramatic scene.

Thank you @Mark_Seaver for your comment!
From the responses it is clear, that the main opinion is in favor of the original, uncropped image. I agree with the view, that the crop feels cut off in the lower left, I have been hesitating about where to crop. Interesting @Mark_Seaver that you consider the cropped image a bit left heavy. I see what you mean, although I decided to crop because I thought that the original image was a bit left heavy, caused by the large mountain part with few features

What an amazingly beautiful scene Han! I’ll fall right in line; I much prefer the whole frame version you posted. It has better balance IMHO, and feels less cut off in the llc.

Thanks @John_Williams for your comment!
