Carpenter Bee on Zinnia

I am trying to learn a little about macro and headed to the garden. I had fun watching the bees go from flower to flower. We did not bother each other.

Not sure how I missed seeing this one, Brian. I like the pose he gave you where you were able to get most of his fact with reflections of the colors of the flower into his eye. It looks like the light was pretty harsh, making the flower to have some hot spots. A polarizer filter or even some fill flash would probably have helped. It is fun following the bees and taking shots.

Good morning Shirley, Thank you. I will try both suggestions to see how it goes. It was quite a challenge following them at least they are docile.

Brian, this is great. I especially like the little ants competing with the bee. Way to go as you said it’s hard to catch these little fellows.
