Visiting an old church in the UK this little creature came out of the stone on the southside of the church to bask in the morning sun.

Pertinent Technical Details

This was taken with a Pentax K3iii, 100-450mm lens, f6.3, 1/800th.

Patricia, I like the pose of the lizard and the variety of colors both in the stone and in the lizard. Looking at the large view, it looks like it’s nose is just a touch soft, which going to f/10 or f/11 would probably have fixed. (Easy to say after the fact, hard to do at the time…)

This is such a great photo Patricia. We get a real good feeling for the environment this lizard lives in, and the colors in the rock mimic the colors of the subject. Great detail and sharpness throughout the frame.
