The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This is another scene from Trap Pond SP, DE. It was getting later in the day and approaching sunset when I noticed this bit of shoreline being bathed in this wonderful warm glow. I decided to go with a crop from the bottom and make this more of a pano as I didn’t think I needed all of the reflection. I came across this lovely state park a couple of years ago and it is now on my list of places to visit during the autumn season due to the numerous photographic possibilities and it is only a two hour drive to access.
Specific Feedback
How do the whites and saturation look? Anything else you notice please feel free to mention it.

Ed, the colors are gorgeous, with the lovely oranges set off beautifully by the scattering of green/yellow and the tree trunks. I wonder about a slight burning-in of the three brightest trunks in the left half but think that needs to be done cautiously because the highlights from the strong verticals are a key feature of this view.
Gorgeous, and I love the pano crop! The trees are striking with a wonderful array of color. The reflection is just gorgeous and I love that the features come to a gentle end before pulling my eye off the bottom. I think the one bright trunk on the far left might be subdued just a bit, but the two brighter ones just left of center work for me, as they fit in with the different more greenish color there.
And now I’m wondering about just a little less contrast in the right quarter, as that area is strongly uniform and competes a bit with the variability in the rest of the image. Lowering contrast would pull saturation down a little – I think a very graduated adjustment from the edge might be interesting. Wonderful image in any case – this place sounds like a gem!
Wonderful autumnal mood here, Ed. Smart move on the crop and pano format. Everything looks good to me regarding whites and saturation. At least on my monitor which I believe runs a little dark. I’d like to point out some cloning patterns, just for future reference if you wanted to print a master file.
I don’t have much to add but wanted to drop in and say that I think this is quite lovely. Saturation and whites look spot on. Agree w/ Michael re: the cloning patterns. Especially fond of the reflections as the have kind of an impressionistic feel to them.
Thanks everyone @Mark_Seaver, @Diane_Miller, @Michael_Lowe and @Bret_Edge for your thoughtful C&C on this image; always appreciated. I will fine tune the whites on the trees a little more as well as playing around with the contrast on the right side. Those clones patterns are the result of a little laissez-faire use of the remove tool after a little CW rotation. I will redo that as well.
Ed: Looks a little rusty to me . Beautiful scene superbly rendered. My only issue with the image is that it embarrasses me that we have so many cypress tree enclaves relatively close to us and I’ve never really pursued them. Merry Christmas and thanks for all you do at NPN. >=))>
Many thanks @Don_Peters and @Bill_Fach for stopping by and leaving your thoughts on this image as it is always appreciated. I am glad that you both liked the image. @Bill_Fach : Bald cypress are some amazing trees for sure. Merry Christmas to you as well and thanks for all your help here on NPN. I feel like we have a great team of helpful and skilled moderators!
