Colors of chlorophyll in these smoke tree leaves by our home fascinate me. Viewed through a CPL upward facing surfaces reflect the violets of direct sunlight. Shaded surfaces reflecting indirect sunlight are dark green. Transilluminated leaves are shades of red.
Richard: I love the effect of the light on the leaves. The dark BG trunks are a bit of a distraction and I kind of wish they weren’t there but so it goes. Nicely seen and captured. >=))>
Bill, thanks. Many of my floral photos are right on the portion of our 0.21 acres not covered by the footprint of our 2 br home. The SD card reader is only a few feet away.
Your’re right, those are tree trunks. They are white oaks across the street. I could heal over them but it would probably leave some trace of unnatural artifacts, and photos in nature have blemishes because nature is messy. I’ve used those oaks to practice ICM techniques. From our patio I can shoot downwards to trees thus avoiding the specular highlights of upward views with sky in background.
BTW, the website remains discouraging to use because if in creating a post a field is missed, which elicits a red popup warning, and I return to the missed field, the typing I’ve put into other fields will be lost and need re-entry. I doubt this is fixable, just a quirk of the website host’s design. I don’t use it often enough to be able to create posts without missing something.
We just built a new website for a bicycle club where I manage membership. There are all sorts of built in quirks. Makes me really respect websites which work flawlessly, for instance B&H, Amazon.
