In my garden however I’m not the gardener. I’m not enthusiastic about Coneflowers, there are several colors in our garder and this is the only one that I like. Photo was taken in the evening in a shadowy place. The pink is already strongly desaturated and it still looks so vibrant that it’s just at the edge of acceptance to me.

Jacek, the details in the main flower look great. By this time of the summer, most of our local coneflowers are looking somewhat beat up, having been chewed by various insects. The colors both in the petals and in the flower’s center look about right to me, especially if this is one of the many hybrids of this plant.
Jacek: I like how you composed this and the overall color palette. Coneflowers are actually one of my favorites as butterfly and bee attractors. Very nicely done. >=))>
They’ve never been my favorite, either, but I think these are lovely – both the composition and the colors. the focus stack looks just right with the two flowers behind subtly repeating the main one and the dark BG so nicely subdued but with a hint of something there. I’m distracted a bit by the darker petals in the UL corner – I wonder about desaturating them.
I don’t get the feeling of the pinks having been desaturated – they look lovely. Maybe a different initial camera profile would have shown the colors less saturated to start with. The profile determines so much of the initial appearance.
Absolutely perfect depth of field on this image, Jacek. I love the dominant flower and the two echoes work very nicely to accent it. The only thing I might do, and it may just be because I use a dark background, is to put a faint stroke of pink around the edge to separated the image from that background.
The comp looks good to me and the colors are vibrant. The stacking looks pretty good and I might go for some additional room at the bottom as the main subject’s petals are close to the edge. These look like a horticultural variety of the purple cone flower. The wild type has much paler and narrower petals than the variety in your photo. Otherwise, looks good as presented…Jim
