the crystalline entity is a Star Trek thing. This is similar to my last post, another abstract ice image. You’ll have to let me know which one you like better. this quote is taken in 2024 where is the previous image was taken at least 10 years ago.

A completely different feel from the earlier image, David. I like the patterns in this one, but for my taste the other has more cohesiveness and evokes a specific reaction, whereas this one is a bit more chaotic. Admittedly, I’m rather fond of chaos (at least that’s what my desk would indicate).
David, this is another nicely detailed look at glacier ice. I do prefer your earlier post, because it’s more strongly layered and it shows off the details of the ice structure. This view looks to have much smaller crystals in the ice.
Preferences are always a tough call for me, David, and this one is no different. I like the sun cups in this one. I like the veins of dark matter too, so I think I lean toward this one, but it is more chaotic, I think because of the vertical break. I can imagine a few different crops that would unify it a bit more (one that includes the vertical line and one that is all left side of that line). It’s worth playing with if you like the image enough to keep experimenting.
