The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I find that dead or decaying plants and flowers often reveal a different type of beauty than when they are fresh. The lines, patterns, textures, and subtle colors of these decaying hostas are what drew my eye. The only editing I did was to increase the saturation to bring out the underlying colors and increasing the tonal contrast a little to emphasize the lines.

Cool! Love the colors and abstract patterns. At first I thought it was dead fish! Minor nits are the strongly saturated blues in the upper right and lower left that take my eye out of the frame. But maybe that just me.
Excellent composition, Chris. I really like the lines formed by the leaves and the mold blotches add a lot to the image. Were they really that blue? That’s the only incongruous note I see in the image as I’m not used to seeing molds that color.
I love this image, Chris. The colors are amazing. The strong diagonal from upper left to lower right makes for a compelling composition. with the curves of the leaves and their veins making it almost like a dance. Beautiful.
There is a lot to love about this image, Chris. I may have missed the over saturated blues in the original, but right now, I like the color treatment. It’s a rainbow of decay, so just symbolically, it works: decay, end, death, and rainbow, beginnings, rebirth, future.
As mentioned above, the mold spots add to the interest. I can imagine a tiny crop off the top, right and bottom to really isolate the interesting hosta patterns and colors from other leaves, but that also makes it more of an abstract. Either way, very nice.

Chris: We’re always looking for the perfect pristine subject but you’ve found real beauty in what I suspect most folks would pass by without a second glance. Exceptionally well seen and superbly composed and captured. >=))>
Really lovely image, Chris. I can’t see anything that I would change if the picture were mine, though to that point; I’m not sure I would have seen this as a potential image to be made!? It’s a good reminder to take pause and look deeply at what’s around us when we’re out in Nature. I really enjoy the composition and color.
What a great way to showcase the beauty in decay. I love how you noticed and brought out those little blue dots and all the bits and pieces of color in these old leaves. It inspires me to look more closely at decaying plants!
