Detaching

A real pleasure getting up close this marigold. Trying different angles and noticing the lifting of some petals. I left the green space as a contrast, receding, to the intense orange.

I would like to know in general the feeling looking at this.

How mysterious and intriguing! I don’t know that I’d have guessed a marigold if you hadn’t provided that information. I am torn about leaving the green so bright and centered. My eyes keep wandering there even though there isn’t much interesting going on. I wonder if a smaller crop with only the petals would be a more effective presentation. The focus is so narrow that the fall off is a bit jarring, especially when viewed small, but I don’t know what can be done there. Nice colors and light though.

Thank you!. If I could get your feedback on this one, thank you!

Hey, sorry for spacing out on this. I like the tighter view, but unfortunately the narrow DOF doesn’t actually give us more to look at. Plus I think the yellow/orange is too bright in this one. If you’re going to crop this much, I think losing the bits on the far left would help. Keep working it!

Agreed. Thanks so much!
