Up close Giraffe appear very large. However, when viewed in silhouette against the vast horizon, the negative space makes them appear small in relation to the expansive landscape. Converting to monochrome brings out the detail in the sky and sets the giraffes in relief.

Hi @Garnet_Grosjean, You have taken us to some place warm as much of the US and Canada is experiencing a bitter cold wave. As much as I like where you are taking this image I fear you have strongly overcooked the sky which is really quite distracting. Bringing the highlights/whites/exposure down so it is not so overpowering will really help this image sing.
Garnet, the smallness of the Giraffes silhouetted agains the sky tells the story well of the wide open spaces. A bit more contrast in the middle and lower parts of the sky might be good and personally, I’d crop a bit from the right to push the idea that they’re walking off to somewhere distant.
Thank you @guy and @Mark_Seaver for your feedback. I have reduced the highlights/whites and exposure in the sky and darkened the foreground a bit. I have also added a bit of contrast to the middle and lower parts of the sky. I then cropped the image from the right so that the right bottom power point, of the rule of thirds, rests on the middle giraffe’s head.
Please let me know if this improves the image.
