Dive

Last April I was at the Oxbow Bend at Grand Teton National Park all by myself, there was no one else there. Two Eared Grebes swam up and down in front of me and posed for an hour or more. I was lucky enough to catch this one diving.

Good action and timing here. You got a decisive moment. The colors and water are quite pleasing.

My thoughts were the same as David’s. I like the circle of blue water and the circular pattern of the grebe and its reflection.

It was a wonderful opportunity but I wonder if you have some that are sharper – 1/500 didn’t stop the action. It’s rare that ISO 100 will work for anything but the stillest subject.

Very interesting position frozen by the camera. I would think about shading the bright white water in the background .
