Don't fall

There is a little park in Apple Valley CA and these birds love it there because they are there all the time. There was a lot of action going on with a lot of activity. The pelican started to move close to the edge and I am not sure if he lost balance or wanted to jump off. His buddy tried to prevent it, but it was too late because the bird in the back went in the water.

Specific Feedback and Self-Critique

The shutter was not the fastest but I wondered if some motion in the wing added to the scene showing some movement.

A fun image, Dean. I love all the cormorants and just two pelicans. Great mix and a great shot too.

It does look like it is getting a little crowded on the perch. Must be a favorite spot. Looks like the Cormorants are taking over the spot, and the Pelicans are having to leave.

Thanks for the feedback, Shirley and David. These birds are always there year round. There are quite a few other birds there but I never see many birders or photographers. The park is best known for camping and fishing. The Cormorants love the perch so maybe that is one reason I do not see many pelicans sitting on it. I will be back there end of Feb and mid March .

Definitely a crowded spot! Must be a good observation location. What’s with the one pelican grabbing the other by the neck? Well captured but I feel the whites could be toned down a bit?

Thanks Terry. I will take them down some more. I wondered about that
