I think you got the ID right, I see a photo of a juvenile in iBird and it looks just like this. Nice catch!

Great detail, and the focus is spot on. I like the first image best as it is a bit more formal. Well done.

Excellent, David. It certainly has the “feel” of a juvenile. I’ve been playing with synchronized flash the last few days as well, though sometimes slipping slightly past the sync speed. It works pretty well with perched birds. I agree with David on preferring the first image. The pose feels a little less awkward and the moss on the branch in a nice bonus.
