Description

More images from my Malheur NWR trip last May. I feel the grass gives a better sense of the environment they were in rather than if they were in open water.

Been away from NPN for a while. Had the family here most of the summer and my 4 year old grandson believes I exist to be his playmate. A belief I fully endorse, but it does put one’s other activities on hold for a while.

Specific Feedback

Any thoughts appreciated.

Sounds like a fun summer, Allen. You really had a productive trip to Malheur. I need to get our reservations set up for next year and hope for good water levels.

The two shovelers look like they were taken in pretty harsh light, but I really like all the others. You did a good job putting the pintail first as for me it’s the star of the show, with the female canvasback my second favorite.

I do like the sense of habitat you convey in these images.

Allen, welcome back. These are fantastic and different from what we normally see. I think they work very well. My favorite is the first one, that Pintail is special.

These are all beautiful images of beautiful birds. I especially like the very handsome first image.

Showing small bits of their habitat with grasses and reeds really add a lot to the images.

Our grandies (8 and 13) have come to live with us. They help to keep us active! Enjoy them while you can.

Beautiful duck images Allen and so interesting to see them in habitat. Adds a good bit of interest. Great to get close sharp shots of these. Nice work.
