Beautiful photo that moves the emotion with the very stark contrast created by the back and lateral light. It was one of my favorite subjects, I mean the daily type not the nocturnal one. I know it as epiphillum, probably one of its many names. I really love the flower emotional photos.

I really love the light on the flower in this image, Balan. The center reminds me inevitable of some of your spider images. The dark background and the ways some of the petals fade into it works very well.

The light and detail of this is excellent Balan. If you have just a bit more space, I would like to see the complete bottom petals and just a bit more space on the left in front of the blossom.

Gorgeous lighting on this wonderful flower! One of my favorite images ever is Cy DeCossee’s “Queen of the Night”. He describes waiting weeks for the bud to suddenly decide to open one night with little warning. Congratulations on capturing this rare beauty!

A very challenging shot and you were successful. Lighting and comp are awesome…Jim

Balan: Really nice work taking advantage of a rare opportunity. The lighting carries the day. I would perhaps like to see the entire bloom but this works great as is or even a slightly tighter crop to fill the frame even more. Top notch effort here! >=))>
