Enchanted Forest

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

The image is a planting of Pine trees in rows which I photographed on the diagonal thus compacting the image and eliminating the row effect.

I was attracted to the planting when the color of the bark would change , when a cloud would place the forest in the shade. The continued variation would go to cool and warm producing a stark difference.

Specific Feedback

I have posted the raw image as well as my interpretation of the subject for. comparison.

Technical Details

Canon EOS -1D Mark 5 and 17-40 F/4 1/25 sec F/16

This is a fascinating image James. The colors are really intensely magenta and bluegreen. It has almost an other worldly look to it. This reminds me of some of Tony Kuyper’s work.

Ed., I appreciated your comment and I hope you looked at the raw post, which displays the colors in the bark. I was amazed at the color shift when the sun was covered and the visual effect was a bit "spooky ". Have a good day!!
