Fall colors, Soda Butte Creek

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This is a 7 vertical shot pano of Soda Butte Creek as it approaches it’s confluence with the Lamar River. The fall colors are just peaking in the Northern Range of YNP (the latest that I’ve ever seen, in 15 years) and are the best looking that I’ve ever seen. A rainy, cloudy day does wonders for saturating the colors.

I like the soft, overcast light and how it allows all the details and colors to be seen without any color cast caused by early or late light. The sky is wonderful, too. Lovely image.

Mark, this is a wonderful scene. Your pano idea & approach paid off nicely. Excellent detail and colors throughout. The larger version coverage from FG to the extreme BG is spot on… :sunglasses:

Gorgeous scene. We didn’t see colors like that two weeks ago in YNP.

Excellent shot. All that resolution pays off. I feel as if I were there.

Perfect conditions, Mark. This has a nice serene mood with the rainy, cloudy sky and the lush orange toned brush along the river. The pano format also works well and puts me right there. Nicely done!

Great job with the composition and stitching. The wide format works very well.

This is a very beautiful image to say the least and I love the soft light and the soft colours. Of course, it’s always a joy to study all the fine details and nuances when viewing this large. I have to say that I like this a lot!
