Description

It prime fall colors time in parts of Yellowstone. The is a look at the Willows and Cottonwoods along Soda Butte Creek as it nears its confluence with the Lamar River

Specific Feedback

While I might wish for a few scattered clouds, Bluebird sky days in Yellowstone have their own benefits. It’s also nice that the road fits in well colorwise.

Mark: Brings back some great memories for me. We did the Tetons and Yellowstone in the Fall in 2011 and it was wonderful. I very much enjoyed the Lamar Valley with the cottonwoods, bison and the meandering streams. Just the right amount of sky for this image. The contrast is pretty high and on my monitor the yellows in the larger cottonwoods look a bit hot. Perhaps a bit of dehaze for the BG hills would suit me a touch better as well. Still a wonderful place very nicely captured and presented. >=))>

Hi Mark,
I am usually not a fan of bluebird skies, but I have to say that I think it works beautifully for this scene as it compliments the yellow warm tones of the landscape. It certainly looks like you caught some great autumn color for this particular location along Soda Butte Creek. My only suggestion would be the same as @Bill_Fach about taming the yellow just a touch on a couple of the cottonwoods. Very nicely done.
